Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand however we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's intelligent features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have many characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a good method to keep your home clean for longer.
There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app lets you make these settings or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren't offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
